Living about 12,000ft (~3650m) above the sea level, Bristlecone pine is the oldest living organism on Earth. The oldest tree is dated to live over 4,500 year. Yah, the tree was germinated about the same time with the great Noah's Flood (Đại Hồng Thủy).
This tree grows in White Mountain, California. If you ever plan to go here, be prepare. The temperature change extremely quick, and the lack of Oxygen can make thing bad.
To get there, from Highway 395 just right outside of Big Pine, make a right turn heading West on 168W Hwy. Visitor center is about half way up the mountain and the road to get there is paved. However, the get the best of White mountain, one has to reach the top. 4-wheel-drive vehicle or high clearance vehicle is recommended. GPS is a great help to get down after dark because the trail can be confusing. This trail is the best trail in California that one will ever drive through.
