This photo was taken of last Lotus season. Last year was a bad year for Wildflowers and lotus in California. The sudden cold killed everything. And this is one of the few flowers that were blooming. I've heard some people claim that Echo park has the largest Lotus bed anywhere outside of Asia. I don't know if it's true or not. I love to travel to places to take photo. But sometimes looking at the photo on the internet and trying to figure out the exact location is a pain. Sometimes I have to do research for weeks and still can't find it. Therefore, from now on I want to share the exact location of places that I've been to and taken photograph; so that other people who may be interested in the place can find it easily (at least I hope). Echo park is easy to find. It's right in Los Angeles. On the US Highway 101, take Echo Park exit and you will see the park right there. Lotus bed is only part of the lake but you can't miss it. Their bloom time is usually from late May until August. And the Chinese community here has Lotus festival every year sometimes in June.
very nice shot with vivid colors
